My Adoption Story

My Birth Certificate is Amended.
I was born in Virginia at a Military Hospital, June 14, 1958 at 12:04 pm and Adopted in the Juvenile Court of the First Circuit Court in Honolulu, Hawaii August 16, 1961. The Juvenile Judge was G. R. Corbett or Corbell. The Attorney for the Petitioners R. Curry (Army) and T. M . Moore Curry was J. C. Lanham Esq. Wahiawa, Oahu Hawaii. The adoption documents were filed October 10, 1961 at 3:34 by Clerk of Court P.J. O'Sullivan, Jr.

I have made two attempts to aquire an OBC and each time I received an Amended Birth Certificate displaying the Adoptive parents as the Birth Parents.

My Adoptive Dad was my absolute heart, although he would not show me any affection in the presence of my adoptive Mom. He passed in January 1993. I was so heartbroken.

My adoptive Mom was very abusive in all aspects and only displayed this when my Adoptive Dad was away, which was often because he was in the Military. She died in 2003.

When I was a teen I asked my Adoptive Dad who were my real parents. His response: 'What did your mother say?' So, I asked her. She became intantly angry! Her response: 'Your Mother was a w****! She had an affair with a married man and didn't want you!'

Wow! How Cruel was that!

Five months ago (2015) my Adoptive Dad's 1st Cousin told me that my Adoptive Dad was my Real Dad! (Imagine that) I asked others in his family, but got no real confirmation, except they all said, that's what they heard. OMG! Family Secrets?

I would like to say to my BIOLOGICAL MOTHER:
My Dearest Mother...I thank you for giving me 'Life'! I don't know your reasons for giving me up or even if you had a choice. I mean, after all I was born in the 50's. A lot of underhanded things went on back in those days with babies.

It's no doubt, I have felt a sense of emptiness and often loneliness and sadness, when I was being abused by my adoptive mom. But, know that I am NOT Angry with you, nor do I hate you. People say I should (other adoptees mainly). But I can't! I don't know your circumstances and feel that would not be a fair assessment.

For the most part, I've had a good life. I served in the United States Air Force. I Love Music, playing cards, sing a little bit, sports interests and I can cook a little bit. Oh! I love to eat. My travels have taught me to embrace all cultures. My experiences have made me a very compassionate and loving person. I have two cats, but I love dogs too. Health wise, I have lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, but I am okay. I enjoy the amazement of nature and bodies of water soothes me always.

You have s 33 year old handsome Grandson. We have had our struggles. But, we're working on it.

I would Love to Meet You and the rest of my Biological Family, if you are willing. Do Not be afraid. Love You unconditionally. My arms are 'wide open' for you. I hope you are in good health. Please come to me. I live in Ohio. If you are unable, then I will come to you some kind of way. ~ Hugs Indefinitely, Your Daughter

Searching for Family

I've tried talk shows and felt driven by the fact that they made reunions possible. But, was highly disappointed to receive a list of resources which required purchases beyond my means(Montel, Oprah, Maury, Find People.Fast)

Reunion Goal

I would love to meet my birth family, but would be satisfied with health and ancestry information. My children only know half of their heritage.
